Carla Ferrigno is Lou Ferrigno’s current wife
As of this writing, Lou Ferrigno is married to his second wife, Carla Ferrigno. In their 41st year, Mr. and Mrs. Ferrigno tied the knot on May 3, 1980.
At the time they met, Carla was a psychotherapist. Furthermore, she also dabbled in modeling and was a Playboy bunny in 1966.
After they fell in love and got married, Carla became a manager for Lou. Taking cues from her husband, Carla later became a personal trainer.
Carla Spoke on Bill Cosby’s Scandal
Carla Ferrigno was among several women who initially accused Bill Cosby of sexual misconduct in late 2014.
Speaking in a radio interview, she recounted in harrowing detail about several lewd passes Cosby made at her at his home. In 1967, Mrs. Ferrigno hung out with a date at Cosby’s house when she found herself left alone with Cosby.
Completely out of the blue, Cosby forcibly kissed her on the mouth. Carla physically and verbally rebuked Cosby, but he remained undeterred. He attempted to kiss her again, but Carla fled from his house.
When she married Lou, she told him of the sordid affair. Lou implored her to keep quiet on the whole incident. Not only was Cosby a beloved “father figure” but also a powerful Hollywood celebrity. She kept mum for fear of the scandal blowing back on her husband’s career.
However, in 2014, after several women came forward with more egregious allegations, Carla couldn’t keep quiet anymore. She went on the radio for a tell-all interview. Several news outlets picked up her story, prompting more women to come forward.
Since then, more than 60 women have come forward accusing Cosby of various felonies. The charges range from attempted sexual assault to drugging to rape to child abuse.
Cosby denied all allegations but was found guilty of three charges of aggravated indecent assault and was sentenced to 3-to-10-year behind bars. He is currently carrying out his sentence at the State Correctional Institution – Phoenix in Skippack Township, Montgomery County, Pennsylvania.
Susan Groff is Lou Ferrigno’s First Wife
Before he found his life partner in Carla, Lou Ferrigno was married for a year to Susan Groff. They exchanged wedding vows on May 27, 1978. Their marriage fizzled out in the first year, and they divorced sometime in 1979.
Susan Groff is not in show business, and since divorcing Lou, she has led an everyday life out of the Hollywood spotlight.
Children
Lou and Carla Ferrigno have three children together. The oldest among Lou and Carl’s children is a daughter Shanna Ferrigno who was born in 1981.
The second born is a son (1984), Louis Ferrigno, Jr, a fitness expert like his father. Brent Ferrigno was born in 1990 and is the youngest among Lou Ferrigno’s kids.
Shanna Ferrigno is an actress-writer-producer. She played Nurse Janine on N.B.C.’s Days of Our Lives and appeared in N.B.C.’s Windfall.
Lou Ferrigno, Jr. was a collegiate football linebacker at the University of Southern California. He is also an actor and model. He is most known for his roles in How I Met Your Mother, Teen Wolf, The Young and the Restless, and S.W.A.T.
Finally, the youngest Ferrigno, Brent, is also an aspiring actor.
